This year-long course teaches students to write research papers, especially for but not limited to those who expect to enter graduate program or go abroad for further studies. The first semester focuses on smaller tasks related to research paper writing, including summaries, reviews, and rhetorical arguments. While practicing these skills, students will also hone their written English into a better style with in-class exercises and writing workshops. Moreover, students will learn to appreciate the choices made in any writing process and become able to choose wisely while composing, revising, and editing their own work.

*第一週無法到課必須請假，無故缺席者視為退選，若未退選則扣學期成績50分（不是5分）。

*原則上只在未達名額上限時加簽，有意加簽的同學請於第一週上課到教室，若人數較多則抽籤決定。如有畢業、實習或交換等個人排課需求，非常需要加簽到本班，請自行加強手氣，不要為難老師。

*作文課重點在於實作，本課程不接受旁聽。

＊因應110-1開學前三週遠距教學，二階選課後，名單上的學生會在課前公告收到遠距上課說明，第一次上課會點名，無故缺席依然視為退選，或扣學期成績50分。
